Wooden Camera's UFF-1 Universal Follow Focus is designed to fit on any of the three major rod standards, 15mm LWS, 15mm studio, and 19mm studio without rod adapters. The UFF-1 achieves this through movable rod clamps that lock into marked positions along the follow focus' bridge. The swinging arm allows lenses of multiple sizes to be used, and provides extra reach for using with the studio rod standards. Drive gears can be mounted to either side of the arm, and the arm itself can be mounted to either side of the gear drive.
The pro version of the UFF-1 includes a bevy of accessories that can have an AC or operator pulling focus in nearly any situation. Dual handwheels allow for focus pulls from either side of the camera. Ten marking disks are included, so you'll always have a fresh one ready. For DSLR lenses, or pulling focus while operating the camera, two hard-stop disks are included as well. These disks have two movable hard stops for setting focus marks. Using the included handwheel extension, you can extend one of the handwheels further away from the camera to accommodate for larger lenses. Using the ARRI-standard accessory ports on either handwheel, the included focus whip or crank can be attached. The crank has a pass-through accessory port, so both accessories can be attached simultaneously to the same handwheel.
Five focus drive gears are included. 0.5 and 0.6 MOD gears for driving Canon and Fujinon ENG lenses, respectively, as well as small and large-diameter 0.8 MOD gears for driving standard cinema lenses. For DSLR lenses that are not geared, a friction gear is included. The UFF-1 and all included accessories come packaged inside custom-cut foam that can fit in a separately available Peli 1500 hard case, for protection during storage and transport. This is a wonderful piece of kit.
